The SIG Sauer P320-M17 and M18 pistols were developed for the United States military when the time came for the armed forces to choose a new sidearm. Now in 2024, the next generation of these pistols has arrived in the form of the M17X. While it is based on the original M17, the M17X adds a variety of new features to make it an even more capable pistol for the modern shooter. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the M17X is the factory mounted ROMEO-M17 red dot sight. Mounted to the proprietary SIG-LOC optic cut slide, the ROMEO-M17 optic is quite literally designed for this pistol. It features a ruggedized aluminum housing, multiple reticle options (2 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle, or circle+dot), zero-distortion glass lens, and a fully enclosed design which protects the internals from the elements to make it a truly capable optic. The M17X is built with an X-Carry grip module with an extended beavertail and aggressive texturing for enhanced control, and a flared magwell extension for faster reloads. With all of these desirable features and more, the M17X continues the legacy of the M17 and M18 pistols.
