The 700P features the classic Model 700 bolt action, known for its "three rings of steel" receiver design, which fully encloses the cartridge base for added strength. The bolt is of a simple, two-lug design. Compared to standard sporting rifles, the 700P has a heavier and thicker barrel for enhanced accuracy and to help dissipate heat during sustained fire.
